A Quick Look at the Sony Ericsson SO706i

The Swedish-Japanese handset manufacturer plans to release a new clamshell phone called the Sony Ericsson SO706i. This new handset will be available first in Japan through the NTT DoCoMo. Here is a brief spec of the new handset:

The Sony Ericsson SO706i mobile phone has a clamshell design with a 2.8 inch 262k colors, 240 x 427 pixel resolution internal display with external LEDs announcing incoming calls, and features Mobile TV, Google Maps and integrated Google search, supports Flash Lite 3.0, advanced e-mail and web capabilities, the good old microSD expansion slot which will accept microSD cards up to 2GB, and finally a 2 megapiaxel camera with Auto Focus and video recording.

The Sony Ericsson SO706i mobile phone measures 105 x 49 x 13.4mm with a weight of 98 grams, with a battery life of up to 3.6 hours talk time and up to 290 hours of standby time or 1.67 hours when in TV viewing mode. The Sony Ericsson SO706i looks to be available in several colours as well.

The Sony Ericsson SO706i mobile handset will hit NTT DoCoMo shops in Japan on 4th July, and should retail at around 40,000 Japanese Yen which is in the region of $380 USD or 240 Euros.
