Freeware: Free Unlock your Blackberry 8000 and 9000 series!
Thursday, December 4, 2008 17:01
Listen up, people! Those who are owning Blackberry 8000 or 9000 series smartphone should read this. If you want to use different SIM card in your phone, you can do it for free with this free software. The software is called the MFI Multiloader, and what you have to do is just download the 800MB of files from Rapidshare
Once downloaded, install the application then run Desktop Manager, upgrade the operating system, and your done, now your BlackBerry can use any SIM card.
Make sure your vendor.xml file is deleted in the apploader folder when Desktop Manager 4.7.0.32 is installed. Now this is ideal for stormers to unlock the BlackBerry Storm either 9500 or 9530, and the BlackBerry Pearl 8100, 8110, 8120, 8130, and the BlackBerry Curve 86300, 8310, 8320, and possibly the 8350i. Oh and don’t forget the BlackBerry Bold and Pearl Flip 8220.
But get a move on because no doubt this will quickly be pulled by the legal bods out there. Find necessary files here If you dare.
Checkout the instruction after the jump:
- Download and install Microsoft NET Framework 2.0
- Download and install Blackberry desktop manager v4.7.0.32
- Download and install Blackberry Operating System
- Delete the vendor.xml file located in c:program filescommon filesresearch in motionapploader
- Download and install MFI Multiloader.

Perform any of the following actions: To add an application that appears in the list, select the check box beside the application. To add an application that does not appear in the list, click Browse. Double-click an application loader (.alx or .ali) file. Click Next.
- Click Finish
- Voila. free Unlockof your Blackberry phone
UPDATE:
The sleuths at HowardForums have pointed out that if you’re having issues, you may have to hack around the application’s Configuration.xml file by changing <database name=” and <logging station=”enabled” to “false”. Once again, do so at your own risk! If you’re getting an Oracle error, try disconnecting from the internet. Another thing they’ve pointed out after rooting around the app’s insides is that the Storm might not be supported! One post is already reporting this result, but if any brave souls are willing to try it out on the Storm, please do and let us know how it turns out, good or bad!

Are you sure this doesn’t damage the internal software of the BlackBerry?

I’ve been trying all day with no luck – though many have reported in forums that it does work. Min keeps failing when installing an MEI file. In response to Paul, as yet, there has been no damage that could not be reversed by simply reloading the OS from the Desktop Manager.
