So, which 8-megapixel camera phone is better; is it the KC910 Renoir from LG or the M8800 Pixon from Samsung? I’ve been looking for the answer of this question for quite a while now and finally I found an interesting article that presents a side by side comparison of the two phones and also their shots results. So here are some comparison pics based on some aspects such as macro, flash etc (LG Renoir pics are in the upper side and Samsung Pixon pics are in the down side):

We’re betting on the LG KC910 Renoir as the better one as far as the camera is concerned since it comes packed with a Schneider-Kreuznach lens and Xenon flash as opposed to the plastic lens and LED flash found on the Samsung M8800 Pixon, and the comparison pretty much validated our early assumptions. It was also pointed that the active auto-focus on the Renoir is way better than the passive auto-focus of the Pixon. However, they discovered that the Pixon’s UI was easier to use and the camera’s speed was higher than the Renoir. What they referred to as speed we have yet to get clarification as the review was originally done in Russian so the real meaning behind it was lost in translation. So basically it’s sort of a tie, but if you’re going to put more emphasis on the camera performance, it would seem that the LG KC910 Renoir is the winner. Unfortunately, I find it a little bit too close to call especially if you take into account the sample photos provided. We’ll have to wait for a more substantial review to come out or if luck is on our side, get to play around with both phones to give you guys a first-hand account of which phone is indeed better. side by side comparison of LG Renoir and Samsung Pixon:
