MyTouch 3G is now official! Here’s why you should get one [Specs and Features]

Rumors buzzing over at the internet about the second Android phone have been around for a while now. In fact, the phone first appeared at the MWC in Barcelona on February this year. And finally T-Mobile has officially announced the T-Mobile MyTouch 3G (also known as HTC Magic) which comes with several improvements in specs and features compared to the first android phone, the T-Mobile G1. So why don’t we talk about the specs and features and also what makes the myTouch stand out compared to other phones (which might be the reason you should buy it)

OS

Android OS v1.5 . Viva Android lovers!

Display

The MyTouch 3G has a large 3.2-inch touch screen with a resolution of 320 x480 pixels. There’s no physical keyboard on the MyTouch 3G. It uses virtual keyboard. Just like the name, the phone also offers network support for 3G (7.2 Mbps HSDPA and 2.0 Mbps HSUPA) and Wi-Fi.

Design

Speaking about the design, I personally love this one much better than the first Android phone, the G1. Why? well, just take a look at the picture. It has a gorgeous and attractive design with awesome display. The round corners also add the design value :) And have I told you that the Google Ion/HTC Magic/MyTouch 3G is a bit slimmer than the Apple’s iPhone?

Storage and Camera

In terms of storage, MyTouch 3G has 512 MB of internal memory and a slot for microSD card. Rumors over at the internet are saying that the phone will be shipped along with a 4GB microSD card, but you can still add more storage.

About the camera, myTouch 3G has a 3.2 megapixel camera with autofocus, which is a bit dissapointing for camera lovers, since as far as I know the myTouch 3G doesn’t have much features like the support for Xenon Flash…

Price and availability

The phone will be available this July 8 for $199.99 on a two-year contract.

So What’s the selling points besides the Android OS?

And here’s the answer: Personalization.

“No two myTouch devices will be alike, they will be as unique as the users that own them.”

Isn’t that great? the software really interests me… So in short, costumers can completely customize myTouch with free Android applications. T-Mobile also said that their staff will help customers in setting their very own Android MyTouch 3G before leaving the store.

However, these days many great phones arrived, such as the mighty iPhone 3G S. I’m interested to see the battle between these phones.  Which one do you think is better?
