So the news about Fennec have arisen again. After a while ago there were news about alpha version and rumor about the availability of Fennec in Android platform, this time rumors over at the internet are saying that the Fennec will come for a lucky handset. And the lucky handset is the HTC Touch Pro. So if you’re not a Touch Pro user, wait until the official release or wait until somebody tweaks the Fennec to broaden its install base. Here’s some quotation from the meeting:

We are targeting a Milestone release for the first week of February, targeting the HTC touch pro.

We’ll definitely be keeping a close eye on this as it unfolds…

  • support for new web technologies.
  • this browser will also support the Apple’s multi-touch trackpad.

Supported gestures include:

  2. Swipe Right: Go forward in history
  3. Swipe Up: Go to the top of the page
  4. Swipe Down: Go to the end of the page
  5. Pinch Together: Zoom out
  6. Pinch Apart: Zoom in

We’ve been waiting for the availability of the mobile version of the Firefox for quite a while. And today it looks like people who are longing to try the new version can end their waiting. The mobile version of the Firefox, or codenamed as ‘Fennec’ has gone Alpha. Finally…

If you want to download it, you can get it here, but be forewarned… It only runs on the Nokia N810 tablet at the moment. As sad as that is, you can still play around with it on Windows, OS X or Linux.

You may also remember the screenshots of Firefox Mobile for Windows Mobile that I posted this past Sunday… So keep your eyes out for that release. It will no doubt be coming soon, and should provide a real taste of what ‘Fennec’ has to offer on a mobile device.
