The World Mobile Congress will come pretty soon and as always some new phones will definitely show off at the event. The latest rumors are saying that Korean manufacturer will unveil three phones, and those phones is not ordinary phones…they are 16GB Omnia, 12-megapixel phone, 8-megapixel Innov8 successor, and an Android phone.

The image above is a leaked image of 16GB Omnia variant is indeed headed for WMC. Apart from the upgraded memory capacity, it more or less comes with the same design and feature-set its current 8GB sibling showcases. There’s not much information around for other phones. However, some say that the 12-megapixel phone will come with Samsung’s own OS while the 8-megapixel successor to the Innov8 will have the S60 OS running the show.

As the case is with rumors, take this bit of info with a grain of salt, but for what its worth, it does look like an impressive line-up to watch out for when the WMC finally kicks off in a few weeks time.

Finally…after collecting some data I managed to build Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1 vs Samsung INNOV8 i8510 vs Apple iPhone 3G vs Nokia E71comparison table. This side-by side comparison will compare the XPERIA X1 vs Samsung INNOV8 vs iPhone 3G vs Nokia E71 from various features available. Most of the data taken for the comparison came from GSMarena, and some other sites over at the internet.

XPERIA X1, INNOV8, iPhone 3G and Nokia E71 (in my opinion) are the phones that rule in smartphone segment in 2008 (and since the Nokia 5800 hasn’t come, I have to exclude the first touchscreen phone from Nokia). These handsets have gained many attentions throughout this year and if you read the smartphones comparison under carefully, some of them even won awards from various magazines.

However, my real intention of writing this comparison is to help users who wanted to buy a smartphone, yet he/she is still confused to choose. Hopefully this comparison of XPERIA X1 vs INNOV8 vs iPhone 3G vs Nokia E71can help you decide which phones is best for you. Enjoy

So, without any further delay, here I present you my favorite smartphone of the year :D

Review Summary

The Sony Ericsson Xperia X1 impressed us with many superlatives. It offers the full extendable memory, nice panel, a good camera with many features, decent battery and also elegant metal case. Thereafter, the Sony Ericsson Xperia X1 is a worthy opponent for other smartphones.

Samsung has taken us by surprise by creating an excellent handset that feels like it could have been made by Nokia. If you’re looking for a high-end handset with almost every feature currently available — and then some — the i8510 is the phone for you

Apple has taken the iPhone to the next level and added some truly mouth-watering features. 3G is lightning fast compared to EDGE, and GPS means you’ll never get lost again. You still can’t send MMS and there’s only a 2-megapixel camera, which may annoy you, but overall it’s a wonderful experience

We’ve been yearning for a phone with a Qwerty keypad that looks good and works like it should, and here it is. The Nokia E71 exceeded our expectations and is a great example of Nokia’s ability to combine ease of use with attractive design. While we don’t like the camera, we think the rest is pretty close to perfect

Best Cell phone in Asia – GSMA

Gadget of the Year – Stuff Magazine

Phone of the year and Best smartphone of the year – Mobile Choice UK; Best Test Phone – WIRED

Recommended to read:

Or at least that’s what our folks at the GSMA said. Anyway, for those who are not familiar to GSMA, it refers to GSM Association, a global trade group for mobile industry. It was at the Mobile Asia Congress in Macau China, the Samsung INNOV8 won the honor.

The President of Samsung Telecommunication Business Geesung Choi admitted that he is delighted and honored by the Samsung INNOV8 achievement as the best cell phone in Asia. He added “I believe that Samsung Innov8 is the best fit for Asian consumers who have sophisticated taste and passion for advanced technology.””

The 2008 awards judges described Samsung INNOV8 as a “multimedia power house – fun, cool, a great package providing all the newest multimedia features – an impressive offering.”

Yap. It is time for another BIG comparison. A while ago I compared the LG Renoir and Samsung Pixon and this time our guests are cameraphones from various vendor that has one similarity: an 8 Megapixel camera. After waiting and longing for some time finally our folks at GSMarena have finished their deep and detailed battle review between four of the latest and might be the 2008 best cameraphones to date. Those phones are the Sony Ericsson C905; Samsung INNOV8; Samsung Pixon and LG Renoir. Hmmm….can’t wait to see the comparison, can you?

Anyway, GSMarena already posted the full and deep comparison aspects and pictures, so you can check the 7 pages review your self by following the link under this post. There will be various categories, and each categories is ended with a grade from GSMarena for each phones. I have made a table out of it, so that you can see the comparison more clearly. Hope that it helps :)

But first, allow me to quote their final impression after the brutal 8 MPX phones battle:

There we are then, the 8 megapixel shootout is over and the crossfire is about to begin. Doing all those tests was fun but it was hard too. Now that there’s seemingly the simplest thing left to do, we’d rather sit back and let everyone do their own math.

It was our best effort – and our pleasure – to weigh up and compare all there is to a cameraphone. We know there’s no way for every single feature on our list to be equally relevant to all users alike. So, if you’re about to make up your mind, we suggest you only look at those that are most important to you.

However we can still offer you a quick summary of our overall impression, without getting into numbers.

If you are looking for the universal performer, then the Samsung INNOV8 is your definite choice with excellent image results. Besides first-rate stills, it also delivers VGA video recording 30fps or slow motion QVGA videos at 120fps and has a large display.

If you are after the best camera interface and probably the best camera handling and controls, then Sony Ericsson C905 is your game.

If you’re really into touchscreen and massive high-res displays, the more balanced cameraphone seems to be LG Renoir with a load of camera features and great image results. It’s also fully geared in terms of video recording with VGA@30fps, slow motion QVGA videos at 120fps or time-lapse QVGA clips.

While the Samsung Pixon falls behind the Renoir in terms of image quality and camera features, it definitely outperforms the LG mobile with superior user experience thanks to the well organized interface and capable video recording with WVGA@30fps and high-speed QVGA vidz.

We really hope you enjoyed this 8 megapixel shootout as much as we did. Forgive us if the article tends to get a bit technical at times, but explaining the basics of photography and camera construction is pretty much out of the scope of this article.

And here’s the table I promised:

If this thing is for real, then maybe Apple, Nokia, BlackBerry and Samsung will be left behind in technology. Is it the smartest smartphones or is it just a concept. No one knows for sure. The device is called the 01 Phone and according to the website at the the01phone.com, the 01 phone will be launched in less than 28 days. It is said that this device incorporates all those features missing from famed iPhone, Nokia N96, BlackBerry Bold, Samsung’s INNOV8 i850. The 01 will have a 5.0-megapixel camera, 3G internet, laser QWERTY keyboard, full touch-screen, forward facing camera for video calling, swanky headphones and 32GB internal memory. The appearance of the 01 appears tempting but it will take some time to reveal the actual mystery behind this phone.

Whoa…recently over at the internet I saw a buzz that said that Samsung will start to produce 8Mpx phones, starting with this babe, the INNOV8. It will run on the S60 third edition platform. For your information, it’s the same platform that nokia use in most of its smartphones. So i guess based on this fact, the buzz of the “INNOV8 is killing the Nokia N96″ arise. So, here’s the specs of the INNOV8:
