Well, well, well… after some pre-models and some time waiting, finally the developer of Skyfire mobile browser have completed the free-to-download Skyfire 1.0 that will compete with Opera and Mozilla’s Fennec. The new and free Skyfire 1.0 is touted by its developer as “the only mobile browser to bring the full PC Web to phones”. Skyfire 1.0 also has some new features and comes with improved usability.

The next version of Opera Mobile browser will be announched next week at CTIA. The new version, now in Opera Mobile 9.7, is ready to give you support for the new Opera compression technology, Opera Turbo. Thus, we can hope for its browsing speed as the Turbo claim, compressing data by 80%. Pretty nice…

The new Opera browser also comes with newest Presto 2.2 rendering engine (as seen on Opera 10 desktop version), support to Web technologies include Flash and Ajax, and also better developer tools and standards support, Google Gears support as well as hardware acceleration Open GL ES.

It’s been a while since I heard about Mozilla’s version of Mobile web browser, the Fennec. And now after several alphas, Mozilla has officially presented the very first beta version of the long-awaited mobile-browser, the Fennec 1.0 Beta 1.

For your information, the new Fennec 1.0 Beta 1 is only available for Nokia N810 for now.

Fennec 1.0 Beta 1 features:

  • The new Fennec 1.0 Beta 1 have added speed and performance enhancements
  • The Fennec 1.0 Beta 1can be used as the primary browser on a N810 device.
  • Fennec has lots of features from Mozilla Firefox for desktop - like support for Flash videos (so you can watch YouTube, for example).
  • Also, add-ons are available, including a Weave Sync add-on (downloadable from here) and a gesture add-on.

To download the beta Fennec on your N810, you must go to Mozilla’s official website. Of course, if you don’t have a Nokia N810, you can still try the Fennec 1.0 Beta 1 via your Windows, Mac or Linux computer.

Below you have two videos, with the general presentation of Fennec 1.0 Beta 1 and with the gesture add-on’s features:
