So the news and rumors about the Samsung Memoir have been around for a while now. And now there’s a good news for all of those Samsung fans out there. Recently I got this news (rumor?) that said that the Samsung Renoir will come soon, very soon. So according to the document pictured above the Samsung Memoir will arrive in 25th February 09. Ok, so let’s go to the hard part: It will be priced at 300 greenbacks – and that’s after rebates. Yikes.

Some features of the Samsung Renoir (rumored to be Samsung T929) are GPS, Stereo Bluetooth, myFaves support and that, unfortunately, it probably won’t be much of a smartphone due to the TouchWiz (the non-Windows Mobile variant) user interface. Freshly leaked as of late is word that it’ll also rock a Xenon flash, autofocus, 16x digital zoom. Oh, and that it’s targeted at “Family focused amateur photographers, 30-45 years old”.

So what do you think, family focused amateur photographers between 30 and 45 years old? Would you drop 300 bucks for an 8-megapixel shooter with a relatively limited OS when it drops on February 25th?

Finally… A great news for all of those iPhone 3G users out there!! After a long time of waiting, the iPhone Dev-Team have successfully unlocked the iPhone 3G. And according to my source, the team plans to release the hack in new year’s eve (as a present for everyone, perhaps?). Anyway, the hack requires that you’ve got a baseband of 2.11.07 or earlier, but when it drops, the crew seems fairly confident it will result in freedom from carrier oppression. The team is packaging the app — formerly codenamed “yellowsn0w” — into a user-friendly app a la PwnageTool and QuickPwn. Of course, you know how this cat and mouse game goes by now, so don’t be surprised when Jobs and company come calling with an update that adds toast making to the official menu, but breaks your breaks all over again.

It’s been a while since Motorola put out their phones from MOTOZINE series. For your information, the last MOTOZINE phone was launched last year. However, the Motorola denies that MOTOZINE series have dead by publishing the MOTOZINE ZN5. The headlining feature on the first model, the ZN5 candybar, lies on the backside: a 5-megapixel sensor courtesy of a partnership with Kodak, featuring autofocus, a xenon flash, image stitching, and on-device integration with Kodak Gallery. Otherwise, you get WiFi (score), Motorola’s so-called “ModeShift” technology for morphing the keypad depending on device mode (a la the E8), and a run-of-the-mill quadband GSM radio with EDGE. China’s the first country to get the hookup starting next month, but Moto expects to take the ZN5 on a world tour over the course of the remainder of the year.
