If anyone is asked for their favorite freeware VOiP Client Application, I bet most of them will answer: Skype. Anyway, this popular app have been updated, and you can download Skype 2.5 Beta by following the link I’ll provide you later. So according to my source, there’s not much of differences between the new Skype 2.5 Beta and the older version of Skype. However, it is said that the Skype 2.5 Beta is more stable than its predecessor(s). In addition, sound quality has been improved, and the user interface is now even more familiar. Don’t know about the last mentioned, even the early Skype releases were quite straightforward. And that’s about all that has been changed.

To download the Skype 2.5 Beta for Windows Mobile Smartphones straight from your PC, click here (.exe file). Alternatively, you can also download the .cab version of it here

It seems that we won’t see the Windows Mobile 7 anywhere soon, but I’m still looking forward to see the new and updated version of Windows Mobile 6.1; the Windows Mobile 6.5. It was confirmed by Steve Ballmer that the new version of WinMo available for near future (2009) is Windows Mobile 6.5. Some side speculate that the WinMo 7 will come in 2010. However, there’s no exact release date available. Too bad…

For what it’s worth, at least Microsoft is updating WM 6.1. Despite it already being a relatively new OS, apparently it’s still not good enough to rival the new breed of mobile OS’s out now such as Android and the iPhone’s mobile OSX. You better get your act together Microsoft unless you want to drop even further down in the rankings.
