Motorola Droid 2 is the next Android smartphone to hit the North America, and this one is promising! The Android Smartphone Motorola Droid 2 is the successor of the popular Droid. The Droid 2 phone is expected to be released this month, and it will sport the Android 2.2 Froyo, along with some other nice specs and features.
Anyway, what we have here is the Motorola Droid 2 Specs and features list, and also a great news showing the benchmark result for the Motorola Droid 2. Without further ado, here are the Motorola Droid 2 specs:
The DROID 2 sheds some of the hardware quirks that Motorola overlooked with their original DROID, with a rock solid slider that shows no wobble and a keyboard with convex keys, better spacing, and overall improved performance. As was shown in leaked photos, Motorola decided to swap the D-Pad for directional arrows; a feature our tipster regarded as a move sideways and not necessarily an improvement. It all depends upon your personal preference.
In addition to the benchmark busting performance of the handset, we were also able to gain the following information regarding the hardware and pre-installed software:
- Slider QWERTY keyboard
- 512MB RAM (approx. 200MB available on boot)
- OMAP 1GHz processor that scales between 300MHz and 1GHz
- microSD card slot under the battery (not hot-swappable)
- 5MP camera that is similar to the original DROID
- 8GB internal storage
- six sensors including a 3-axis accelerator, 3-axis magentic, temperature, proximity, orientation and light
- 1300 mAh battery (same as the DROID and CLIQ) that provides a full day usage
- extra strong vibrate
- two-tone coloring with a smokey chrome on the front and darker coloring on the back
- physically, the handset resembles its predecessor and is identical to the dummy phone images that have already hit the Internet
- Swype pre-installed
- Froyo – Android 2.2 with a modified Motorola MotoBLUR interface similar to the one that debuted on the X
Interestingly, Motorola decided to change the D-pad with directional arrows. This move intrigues many critics from motorola fans. But all in all, the Motorola Droid 2 is definitely a great successor for the original Droid
